First Aid & PPE
When working on vehicles, safety is of paramount importance. Mechanics take every precaution when they lift a car for something as routine as an oil change. In addition to safety procedures that your dealership or independent shop has in place, your mechanics will also need to have proper PPE available. And while you never want to find yourself in a position to use first aid supplies, they are critical in case of an emergency. Ensuring that your shop is fully stocked with first aid and PPE supplies shows your commitment to safety – both for your mechanics and the vehicles they work on.
Auto Solutions is proud to help dealerships and independent shops stay safe by offering a complete range of first aid supplies and PPE. We are your one-stop shop for all of the items your business needs to work on and maintain your clients’ vehicles, including drive chemicals, shop supplies, janitorial supplies, and much more.

First Aid Supplies from Auto Solutions
Having a set of first aid supplies on hand at your dealership or independent repair shop isn’t just a matter a safety – it is also mandated by OSHA. According to OSHA guidelines (Appendix A to § 1910.266), a first aid kit needs to carry, at a minimum:
- Gauze pads (2 medium sized and 2 large sized)
- A box of adhesive bandages
- A pack of gauze roller bandage
- 2 triangular bandages
- Wound cleaning agent
- Scissors
- Blanket
- Tweezers
- Adhesive tape
- Latex gloves
- Resuscitation equipment
- 2 elastic wraps
- Splint
- Directions for getting emergency assistance
First aid kits need to be checked from time to time to ensure it is fully compliant with these regulations. You’ll have to not just replace the items that have been used, but also check the expiration dates on the materials and replace what has expired.
Auto Solutions understands how important good first aid can be, both for minor cuts and bruises as well as emergency situations. We offer a complete array of first aid supplies to make sure you stay fully stocked.
Common PPE Used in Auto Shops
Because mechanics at auto shops work with hazardous materials and heavy-duty equipment, they are required by law to wear PPE. Some of the PPE they need includes:
- Gloves: Gloves are essential for protecting the hands when working under the hood. If a mechanic ends up spilling oil, coolant, or other hazardous chemicals, gloves will protect from potential irritation or chemical burns.
- Masks: The fumes from the hazardous chemicals used in auto maintenance can irritate and even injure. A good mask will protect the lungs from potential damage.
- Safety Glasses: Glasses protect the eyes in case of a spill, spray, or leak, and should be worn at all times during auto repair work.
All of our high-quality shop supplies are tested and built to handle the heavy-duty environment of dealerships and independent auto shops.
